Our current landscape of leadership has changed. Disruption and transformation are the “now normal” altering the way we work, communicate, behave, and lead. To help our teams succeed, leaders must encourage a culture that focuses on collaboration and results.
Patrick Lencioni’s team development model helps reframe teamwork on an individual level because leadership starts with you. The pyramid model includes five behaviors, building on each other: trust, conflict, commitment, accountability, and results.
Trust is about being vulnerable, letting down barriers, and asking for help when needed.
Conflict must be productive, voicing opinions and seeking viewpoints to build consensus.
Commitment creates opportunities for buy-in, investment, and decision making.
Accountability is understanding how you hold yourself accountable. Hierarchy isn’t an option.
Results mean the team has succeeded. It values the collective success over individual triumphs.
