Tip #9: Ensure That People Grow in Their Jobs

Effective leaders enable others to learn new skills. They make it their mission to guide and develop their people into strong, capable, and confident contributors who deliver on commitments.

Get to know the personal goals of your team members—what do they want to achieve? Help each teammate identify opportunities for growth. Assign them to a new project that aligns with their interests or help them find a cross-training experience in another area of the organization in which they can apply their strengths while learning something new.
