Values matter!

And, as a leader, you must take ownership of what you believe. Clarification of values begin with becoming more self-aware, prioritizing tasks, and developing credibility as a leader.

Organizations do not form values; people do. And, our commitment to an organization comes more from clarity of our personal values than clarity of organizational values.

A clear set of core values help us build integrity and trust. We are more inclined to trust people when we understand their values and observe that their actions reflect those values.

From the words of Gandhi:

“Your beliefs become your thoughts; your thoughts become your words; your words become your actions; your actions become your habits; your habits become your values; your values become your destiny.”

Values are how a leader behaves. Are you clear about your own guiding principles?
