How do you influence accountability? Reflect on the ways in which you offer unprovoked, constructive feedback to team members.
An effective way hold other’s accountable is to have an agreed upon, and posted, Operational Guide. It should visibly identify team expectations, overarching guidelines and ground rules that outline standards of behavior for promoting a positive community environment. Refer to and review it before each team meeting.
When a team clearly articulates behaviors that are destructive to team’s performance, individual team members are much more likely to adhere to those norms and call out unproductive and/or harmful behaviors they see in others.
