Tip #52: Listening to Understand

Steven R. Covey’s best-selling book, The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, discusses the importance of “listening on a deep level to understand others before we seek to understand.” Exemplary leaders frequent this behavior, “actively listening to diverse points of view.”

Take some time today to reflect on your listening levels. Ask yourself, “How might listening to connect and understand with team members impact my leadership?”
