How do you value your employees and show appreciation for the work they do? One of the best ways to increase employee engagement while working remotely is to intentionally connect with your team members every day. Find specific ways to include these team-building practices during your online meetings for healthy social connections:

 

  • Build in social time, breakout groups, chat rooms, and peer learning sessions

  • Share stories, work routines, preferences, experiences, and challenges

  • Engage your team with an online game or photo share

  • Celebrate events, such as a virtual birthday party or project completion

Lay a foundation for effective, considerate interaction and team appreciation. Remote work meetings should have elements that are fun and engaging. Leaders who model these behaviors regularly report higher levels of employee engagement and productivity.
