Tip 216 - Challenges Leaders Face

What do global leaders find most challenging in their work environment? Some challenges might include getting work done, translating strategy into action, leading change, and developing other leaders. According to the Center of Talent Innovation, the top challenge leaders say they face is engaging, motivating, and retaining talent. Understanding bias is one key factor for addressing this challenge. Their research reveals that “employees who perceive themselves to be the target of bias are more than three times as likely to disengage, withhold ideas, and leave their current jobs within the year.” Practicing empathy and developing a curious mindset led to deeper levels of learning, sharing, support, and advocacy.
