Presented by Lee H. Grimes, James Gills, II, William Torres, Alma Martinez-Egger, and Kelly Tribble, Tarrant County College

This workshop will explore strategies for engaging faculty while utilizing the science of leadership. Through the lens of David Rock’s work on NeuroLeadership, participants of this workshop will learn to implement faculty engagement programs and build cohesion and trust among colleagues.

Topics will include:

• Self-awareness when communicating with colleagues

• Techniques to build consensus when there are differing perspectives

• Skills for building trust among diverse faculty

• Heightened awareness of how others react to initiative overload and change

• High impact practices that fully engage faculty in student-centered learning

Participants will be actively engaged in this workshop through discussions, small group work, and other activities. Participants will also have the opportunity to apply the concepts learned to challenges, programs, and other initiatives at their institutions. This workshop is perfect for any faculty members or administrators who are interested in energizing faculty engagement efforts at their institution.
